NIPUN Lakshya is an app that helps teachers assess students’ basic education skills in classes 1–3 as part of the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat) program. The app was developed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s Department of Basic Education.
The app’s features include:
Multi-language assessments
The app uses the National Hub for Language Technology (NHLT) to provide assessments in multiple languages.
Spot assessments
The app is used for spot assessments during collaborative observation by mentors.
Focus on basic education
The app assesses students’ ability to read with comprehension, solve math questions, and read at a minimal speed.
The NIPUN Bharat program was launched by the Ministry of Education on July 5, 2021. The program’s goal is to strengthen the foundational learning of students up to grade 3.
