    Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat

    Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) is a government initiative that promotes cultural integration and mutual understanding across India’s states and union territories. The program’s name translates to “One India, Best India”. The program includes a number of activities, such as: State pairing States are paired together to promote cultural exchange. For example, in 2023, Arunachal Pradesh was paired with Uttar Pradesh. Competitive events Students from paired states compete in events such as group dance, group song, on-the-spot painting, and more. Scrap books Students create scrap books that showcase their paired state’s culture, cuisine, agriculture, and more. Wall magazines Students create display boards that showcase their paired state’s features. Reading news Students read news about their paired state every Monday morning in assembly. Quizzes Students take quizzes about their paired state every Friday morning in assembly. Bhasha Sangam Students learn about the 22 Indian languages listed in the Constitution of India’s Schedule VIII. The program’s goals include: Strengthening the emotional bonds between people across the country, Promoting national integration, Fostering a sense of common identity, and Creating interest in Indian languages.
