The Youth Parliament is an annual event in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) that gives students the opportunity to participate in parliamentary-style debates, discussions, and decision-making processes. The event is held at three levels: regional, zonal, and national. The Youth Parliament aims to: Help students understand how India’s parliamentary system works Develop leadership skills and civic awareness Help students learn about democratic principles Provide students with insights into governance and policy issues Encourage students to discuss national issues in a proper forum Help students learn to tolerate the views of others Help students develop healthy habits of discipline The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan introduced the Youth Parliament Competition to strengthen democracy and to help students learn about how Parliament works.
