    SOP/NDMA in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools stands for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The Prime Minister heads the NDMA, while the Chief Ministers of each state head the State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs). The NDMA’s guidelines for schools include: Safety plans Schools should have a plan for how to respond to emergencies like earthquakes, fires, floods, cyclones, stampedes, and health problems. The plan should include how to safely evacuate students and how to provide essential services like food, water, power, and first aid. Safety audits Schools should conduct audits for electrical and fire safety, and inspect the quality of food and water. Safety measures Schools should ensure that evacuation routes are clear and well-lit, and that chemistry lab chemicals are stored safely.
